Computer Technology
St. Peter's School has a computer LAN with filtered Internet access in every classroom. The computer room and classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art computers, which were obtained through the IBM Matching Grants Program.
Dynamic technology projects are integrated into the core curriculum areas of Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics. Students reinforce their academic learning by incorporating technology into their classroom activities.
In Pre-K, the computer is used to help students learn letter recognition, numbers, listening and memory skills, and mouse control.
In Kindergarten, the students use the computers at center time for a variety of learning games for all areas of the curriculum.
Our school also has portable interactive white boards for use in the classrooms. The white board is a digital presentation tool which enables the teacher to develop and deliver informative and stimulating computer-generated lessons and multi-media presentations, to access on-line libraries, and to encourage student participation.
