Catholic Schools Week Breakfast On Monday January 30th the families of St Peter's School enjoyed breakfast together. All students and families were invited to come and enjoy a meal together to start Catholic Schools week.

| ST. PETER´S BOOK FAIR

On Thursday November 10th St. Peter's School honored the veterans of our community and our country with songs, a patriotic presentation, the reading of veterans' names from the St. Peter's community, and a message from a veteran. We thank everyone who has served in the military, and we pray for all those still serving. You sacrifice so much to protect us and our way of life. Thank you.

St. Peter's held its first ever homecoming weekend starting with a pep rally on Friday Nov. 4th, a dance on Sat. the 5th, and the kick off of St. Peter's School basketball on the 6th. All events were a wonderful time filled with St. Peter's pride.

On November 3rd St. Peter's held the ribbon ceremony for student council. The elected members of student council were presented with their ribbon for the office they now hold. At the assembly we also had a guest speaker, Mayor Tyazik! Congratulation to all the members of student council, and that you to Mayor Tyazik for speaking to his alma mater.

On November 2nd author Susan Davis visited St. Peter's School. She spoke about her book Musket and Mobcap which is based on the life of Sybil Ludington, which was read by the fourth grade. Mrs. Davis brought with her the original watercolor illustrations from the novel. She also taught us how to play "fox and geese" and let each student keep a game. We want to thank Mrs. Davis for her amazing book, and for spending time at our school.

St. Peter's has started many new clubs during the school day! The clubs include a game club, a photography club, a reading buddy club, and a restoration and beauty club. Each club is providing enriching activities and experience for students in grades 4 - 8.

THE CITI.............
ON JUNE 6TH WE WENT TO THE CITY TO VISIT CITI....FIELD, AND ALL OUR 6TH, 7TH AND 8TH GRADERS ENJOYED THE BASEBALL GAME. IT WAS AN EXCITING CONTEST WITH THE METS COMING BACK FROM A 7-0 DEFICIT TO BEAT THE PIRATES!

ST. PETER'S at  Our teachers took on a different role and worked as cashiers at Mc Donald's in the annual furndraiser. This was an extremely successful event and we thank the Mc donald's on route 9 in Pougheepsie for their continued support.

We had our school TALENT SHOW onTuesday, February 9th . The students and the staff enjoyed ourselves and hope you all did too. Look forward to next years talent show!

Father Garisto celebrated First Friday Mass at the school, and he gave the participants a moving sermon. After, Father led a Benediction service for our students and staff . Thank you to Mackenzie and Keith for dressing as Saints Elizabeth Seton and John Neumann.

On Thursday February 3rd, Father Garisto, in commemoration of St. Blaise blessed the throat of each member of St. Peter’s school community. This will protect us from all infirmities of the throat. Father Garisto offered our students a detailed history of St. Blaise and the meaning of the two candles used to bless the throats.

BASKETBALL
On Thursday, February 3rd Faculty competed against 8th Grade in Basketball. The entire school witnessed the exciting event and it was a hard fought and closely contested game. All the participants had a great deal of fun and it was a display of the St. Peter’s family in action.

Mr. Clavin guested on a radio broadcast with John Flowers earlier this week. During the radio show, Mr. Clavin talked about St. Peter's School and the great initiatives he has underway to help us remain viable and independent. He also mentioned how much he enjoys the school, the staff, the children and their families. Mrs. Crolius joined the discussion by phone and supported Mr. Clavin's statements, and elaborated on the warmth and community feeling of the school. St. Peter's Faculty vs. Students Softball game took place on Tuesday October 12th, 2010. The Faculty vs. Students Softball game was an exciting afternoon and there was a large turnout from the entire community.
