♦   FOURTH GRADE   ♦

Fourth grade is a busy year at St. Peter's School.  In Language Arts, our students do a great deal of reading.  Besides the wonderful selections in their literature books, they read a number of novels.  The writing process is also emphasized.
Social Studies involves American history, with a concentration on the settlement and growth of our state and local area.
The goals in Math are to master multiplication and division of whole numbers and to gain a familiarity with fractions and decimals.
Science encourages measuring, graphing, and recording information, as well as reading about the world around us.
The students prepare for the New York State assessments in Math,
English Language Arts and Science.
Religion teaches the commandments and beatitudes as the tools for living as God's people.
