Second grade is a time of discovery and excitement. We begin writing in cursive.
In Math, we are learning regrouping and fractions.
We concentrate on grammatical concepts, such as capitalization, punctuation and adjectives, and incorporate these concepts into our weekly paragraph writing. The 2nd grade reader offers a variety of fiction and non-fiction pieces. This is supplemented with other reading material, covering fables, biographies and poetry.
In second grade, we also learn about the solar system and about land forms.

This year is a time of spiritual growth for the 2nd grade students. They prepare for and receive two Sacraments - Reconciliation and the Holy Eucharist.
